After a wild battle, andthe death of the shadevar, the company thief, Ferrit, searches the corpse andfinds a ring which enabled the shadervar to communicate with the frighteninglypowerful creature who summoned it, and thr ough conjuring trick the mage, Morhion, findsthat the master of the shadevar was not the lord Cutter as they had once thoughtbut Cutters own lord steward, glide.
